History

The history of the City Milk Processing Factory No.1 began in far back 1929.

In those years milk processing capacity was equal to 10-12 tons per day.

Sour clotted milk, kefir, milk were manufactured at that time. By 1940 the factory manufactured 11,700 tons of whole-milk products, 46 tons of butter, 280 tons of ice-cream.

In 1953 new manufacturing buildings were constructed, new equipment was installed. Milk processing capacity rose to 75 tons of milk per day and 6 tons of ice-cream per day. Further technical modernization enabled to expand the range of products and improve product quality.

From April 1974 to December 1974 the City Processing Factory was re-equipped. The processing capacity was equal to 230 tons of the whole-milk products per day. The range of manufactured products expanded to 20 items. Performed reconstruction enabled to specialize the factory in sour cream, curds and cheesecake products manufacturing, increase the degree of handwork mechanization, and improve labour culture and productivity.

Since 1994 the enterprise has been working at a new manufacture site located at Soltys street, “wall-to-wall” to the City Milk Processing Factory No. 3. The milk processing capacity rose to 320 tons per day.

Beginning in 2003 the factory constantly increases production and expands the range of manufactured products. While in 2002 there were 30 items of products including 4 types of chocolate-coated cheesecake bars, in 2005 there were 112 items including over 60 types of chocolate-coated cheesecake bars, and in 2009 there were 300 and over 100 accordingly.

In 2008 the enterprise’s history was marked by the most important event – the joining of Municipal Manufacturing Unitary Enterprise (MMUE) City Milk Processing Factory No. 3. This decision was made in order to create “unified technological process in the areas of both enterprises located close to each other”.

Today the City Milk Processing Factory No.1 Municipal Unitary Enterprise is the enterprise of the highest capacity in its industry. Adhering to a clearly expressed policy of production quality and safety, the factory not only still leads its marker segment but also expands the range of products, rises exports volume without losing its customer in the market of Belarus.
